Having joined BNY Mellon in September of 2016, I am currently Head of Markets, Clearing and Collateral in EMEA.

Prior to BNYM, I have had a fairly diverse career: I've been a management consultant and a technologist in financial services early in my career.

Founded, run and then sold a company called LatentZero.

I've also been a general manager of a division of a public company providing Mortgage solutions and acquired two companies (Equator and Mortgage Builder).

Those adventures have allowed me to live and work in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Switzerland, Luxembourg, London and the United States.

Michael previously spent 35 years with BNY Mellon, the last seven as Chairman, Europe, Middle East & Africa. In addition to his role at AFME, Michael is currently Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), a member and co-chair of the Wholesale Banking Group of the European Financial Services Chairman’s Advisory Council, a member of the Advisory Council and the Financial Services Skills Taskforce of TheCityUK, and member of FICC Markets Standards Board Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum Advisory Board and a Board and Executive Committee Member of the Global Financial Markets Association.

Michael is Trustee of the mental health charity, the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust and of education charity, Engage with China Ltd.

He was recently awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) from Cass Business School.

Nick is the Co-Founder and CEO of Unmind, a workplace mental health platform that provides clinically-backed tools and training to create healthier, happier more human organisations.
Unmind provides a positive, proactive solution that empowers employees to improve their mind, asses their own mental wellbeing, or find support in times of need. It also enables organisations, by aggregating and anonymising their employee mental health data, to create mental health strategies that are most appropriate for their people in a truly data-led way.
From a young age Nick had a deep fascination with the human mind. This interest was further cemented while volunteering as a Samaritan and working as a Support Worker for the mental health charity, Mind. Nick chose to further pursue this interest, studying psychology at the University of Cardiff, before later gaining a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sheffield and embarking on a long career with the NHS as a Clinical Psychologist.
It was while working in a leadership role for the NHS that Nick became interested in corporate wellness and how organisations can benefit by looking after their employees. Determined to implement a strategy that would enable the NHS to best support its workers, Nick realised that there was a clear gap in the market for a platform that would provide all organisations with the tools to do this. It was this belief in the importance of offering a proactive solution that led Nick to co-found Unmind in 2016.
Three years later, Unmind is a widely used digital platform which offers bite-sized exercises for everyday wellbeing, personalised assessments and customised programmes to help improve on specific areas such as stress, focus and sleep.
All the content on the platform is produced by expert clinicians, authors and academics and Unmind has built up an impressive client base including John Lewis & Partners, Just Eat, William Hill and Made.com. With over half of all working days reportedly lost due to stress, depression or anxiety (HSE, 2018), Unmind provides businesses with a readily accessible platform helping them be more proactive and preventative in their approach to mental health.
With significant funding recently secured, Nick continues to lead the team behind Unmind, partnering with organisations who are committed to supporting the mental health of their employees and believe in the importance of creating a workplace environment where mental health is universally understood, nurtured and celebrated.

Poppy Jaman OBE is a global ambassador for mental health in the workplace. A social entrepreneur and CEO of the City Mental Health Alliance CiC. Poppy founded Mental Health First Aid England CiC. She has served two terms on the Board of Public Health England. Poppy was instrumental in the creation of the NHS’s Every Mind Matters platform and was named by the Secretary of State in Parliament as one of England’s mental health experts.

In the 2018 New Year’s Honours, Poppy was awarded an OBE in recognition of her services to people with mental health issues and in the same year she received an honorary doctorate from the University of Gloucestershire.

In 2019 Poppy won Woman Of The Year at the GG2 Culture & Diversity Leadership Awards and was named as a Game Changer in the FT (Financial Times) women of 2019 list.

Rebecca is an experienced project manager working for the Internal Firm Services team, in the Workplace & Secretarial function - enabling teams to provide the most effective and efficient business support to their stakeholders.

Rebecca has worked at PwC for 18 years, both for the UK firm and overseas with PwC in Australia. Specialisms include operations, logistics, resource management, recruitment and onboarding. Moreover, Rebecca is supporting teams to positively embrace technological change and proactively upskill in their roles, career coaching, managing change and performance management.

Prior to working at PwC, Rebecca worked for a global recruitment firm, and was part of a store management team for a UK market leader in food retail.

Rebecca is the Chief Executive of Outer Temple Chambers (a leading London and international barristers’ Chambers), with responsibility for providing strategic leadership, building the business and overall management. Rebecca’s background is as an executive HR Director in banking and a dual-qualified solicitor and barrister with extensive financial services and legal experience.
Rebecca joined Outer Temple Chambers from Lloyds Banking Group where, as People Director, Employee Relations and Policy Transformation, she was a member of the Executive HR Leadership team and the GCE’s Strategic Leadership Group. A particular focus in this role was the promotion of well-being across the Group and improving support for those with mental ill health. Previous roles included leading the HR Legal departments at Lloyds Banking Group and at Standard Chartered Bank. Before moving to financial services in 2006, Rebecca was in private practice, initially as a barrister and then as a senior associate at Simmons & Simmons.
Rebecca is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the City Mental Health Alliance (CMHA), whose vision is to create mentally healthy workplaces and to inspire health creation and protection across global businesses and cities.
