Adam Farkas is the Chief Executive Officer of AFME. He joined the Association in February 2020 and is responsible for shaping its overall strategy. Adam was also appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA) in March 2022, coordinating industry views on key global regulatory issues. Adam also sits on the Board of TheCityUK, an industry-led body representing UK-based financial and related professional services.
Before joining AFME, Adam was the Executive Director of the European Banking Authority (EBA) from April 2011 until the end of January 2020 where he managed the organisation’s daily operations and led the implementation of its regulatory work programme. Between 2011 and 2019, he represented the EBA on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
Prior to joining the EBA, he acted as the Executive Chairman of the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority from 2009 to 2010 where he spearheaded the Authority’s response to the financial crisis. His other previous positions include CEO for Allianz Bank from 2006 until 2009 and co-CEO of CIB Bank (Intesa Sanpaolo Group) between 2002 and 2005. Between 1997 and 2001, he was Managing Director and Member of the Board at the National Bank of Hungary. Adam started his career as an Assistant Professor at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences (subsequently renamed Corvinus University of Budapest). He was also a consultant to various financial institutions in Budapest and London, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) between 1991-1997. Adam holds a doctorate degree in Finance from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, and a Master’s in computer-based simulation and modelling from Sunderland University in the UK.

Since 2004 Gerrit Fey has commented on and contributed to a number of German and –European legislative initiatives in his role as Head of Capital Markets Department at Deutsches Aktieninstitut. He also heads the policy committee at EuropeanIssuers, a pan-European organisation representing the interests of publicly quoted companies in Europe. Among the current policy projects covered by Gerrit Fey are the Capital Markets Union project as well as more specific pieces of legislations, such as the Market Abuse Regulation and the Benchmark Regulation. Gerrit Fey holds a Ph.D. in economics from Marburg university. In his free time, Gerrit Fey most enjoys sitting on his mountain bike or putting on his walking boots.

Jacqueline Mills is Head of Advocacy, responsible for the formulation and delivery of AFME’s advocacy across the association’s external stakeholders in the EU27 and UK. Jacqueline joined AFME in the Prudential Regulation Division in 2014 and was in charge of coordinating AFME’s policy work on the CRD5/CRR2. In 2017, Jacqueline relocated from London to Frankfurt to establish the Association’s Frankfurt Office. She was also responsible for developing AFME’s relationships with key supervisory authorities, with a particular focus on the ECB SSM and running AFME’s SSM Supervisory Committee. Prior to joining AFME, Jacqueline was Head of Asset Finance Policy and Research at Leaseurope, the European Leasing Federation in Brussels. Jacqueline has also worked for Deloitte and Eurofinas in Brussels and was an assistant lecturer in Finance at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Jacqueline has a Masters in Finance and Accounting and holds a DEA (1st year PhD) from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.

Julio is AFME’s Research Director and leads on the production of AFME’s quarterly data reports on European capital markets and the annual Capital Markets Union (CMU) Key Performance Indicators report.

He has also written several key analytical reports including on Insolvency Reform and Capital Markets in Central and Eastern Europe. More broadly, he is also engaged in AFME’s work on CMU matters and is a member of ESMA’s Group of Economic Advisers.

Prior to joining AFME, Julio was Senior Economist at BBVA, leading macroeconomic and financial sector analysis. Julio has a BSc in Economics, BEng in Industrial Engineering and a MSc in Economics from Los Andes University in Colombia as well as a Master in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.

Ludovic Aigrot is heading Nasdaq's European Office of Government Relations. He is also chairman of the management committee of the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) and a member of the Board of the European Association of Clearing Houses (EACH). Ludovic Aigrot holds a post-graduate diploma in international commercial law from Sorbonne University (Paris, France). Prior to joining Nasdaq, he was Director of EU Affairs for Euronext, he also worked at the Council of Europe on economic crime issues as well as for the French derivatives market (MATIF) and the banking sector.

Reginald Vossen, a leading figure in the business angel sector currently holds the key position as CEO of BAN Flanders, the largest network of business angels in Belgium. He manages a network of over 225 active business angels and facilitates approximately 30 investment deals annually, supporting innovative enterprises in their growth ambitions.

As President of Business Angels Europe, he is committed to strengthening and professionalizing the business angel community in Europe. His current efforts are focused on stimulating investments and promoting sustainable growth within the European business ecosystem.

Tanguy van de Werve is the Director General of the Brussels-based European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) since December 2018. In that capacity, he leads in the formulation of industry positions on the main policy developments and engages with relevant EU and international authorities. Before joining EFAMA, he was Head of the Brussels office of AFME (European investment banking industry - 2015-2018), Director General of Leaseurope and Eurofinas (European leasing and consumer credit industries – 2006-2015), and Head of Banking Supervision and Capital Markets at the European Banking Federation (2001-2006). Other relevant roles include positions at Euroclear and Dexia as well as non-Executive Director of Belgium-domiciled UCITS (2006-2018).

He is a member of ESMA's stakeholder group (SMSG), a visiting professor at the College of Europe (Bruges, BE) and a member of the Board of the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA).
